Nutrition Educators of Health Professionals is a Dietetic Practice Group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Members of the Academy are eligible for membership in NEHP.
Members of NEHP come from a variety of backgrounds including academic, clinical, community, research, industry, and government. From novice to expert, our members range in experience from one to more than 20 years. NEHP offers members an opportunity to network with others and enhance skills and collaboration for nutrition education of health professionals of all levels. Each year NEHP recognizes the contributions of a member with the NEHP Excellence in Nutrition Education Award.
According to Roger Shewmake, PhD, LN, current legislative chair, this group offers an environment for interaction with other educators, opportunities for professional growth, and a forum for developing nutrition curricula at all levels: undergraduate, graduate, and continuing nutrition education.
